To Alvin and John :D
By right when you change from USD to SGD OR from SGD to USD, the exchange rate is almost the same. BUT for paypal, their exchange rate system is different. I have no idea why. I think is because of some different commission charged. Maybe you guys can help me go to their FAQ to find it out and explain to me?
By the way, why I say it is different is because...
Scenario 1:
You set USD as your primary currency at Paypal.
So it is from USD to SGD. The PayPal exchange rate shown is 1 USD = 1.46970 SGD.
Scenario 2:
You set SGD as your primary currency at Paypal.
So it is from SGD to USD. The Paypal exchange rate shown is 1 SGD = 0.645715 USD.
Lets make USD as 1 unit, lets do some mathematics. :D
1 SGD = 0.645715 USD
(1/0.645715) SGD = 1 USD
1.54867 SGD = 1 USD
1.55 SGD = 1 USD (round up to 2 decimal places)
I am a Singaporean. The currency I use or pay is SGD. I am changing from SGD to USD. I am the scenario 2 case. Afer all the explanation, can you understand me? If you still have doubts, do contact me again. Cheers! By the way, you can try out the Scenario 1 and 2. You will see that what I am saying is true. I don't cheat my customer! :D
